The moment you request someone to follow and when you tab the follow button to button turns itself into the requested button but when the button turns into the following button again that means the person declined your request. 2. Check the Following List.
You can’t see them in your following list.
Whenever you follow any person on Instagram they will automatically add up into the following list.

- Follow Button Status: When you send a follow request on Instagram, and the person declines it, the “Follow” button will revert to the “Follow” state. So, if you see the “Follow” button instead of “Requested” when you visit their profile, it may indicate that they declined your request.
- Checking Your Following List: When you follow someone on Instagram, they are added to your “Following” list. If you can’t find the person you sent a follow request to in your “Following” list, it may suggest that they declined your request.
